Let's Talk
The Canadian Mental Health Association estimates that 1 in 5 Canadians will experience some form of mental illness over their lifetime, and by age 40, approximately 50% of Canadians will have (or have had) a mental illness.
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is okay to have those feelings.
But what matters, above all else, is talking to someone - anyone - about how you feel, which at times can be the most daunting challenge of all. There is no shame in seeking help, especially with the additional stress caused by COVID-19.
Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day, an initiative to facilitate dialogue about mental health. Mental health affects all of us, and there is so much we can do to help.
Don't be afraid to open up.
Don't be afraid to reach out.
Don't be afraid to seek help.
Don't be afraid to listen.
Together, we can end the stigma surrounding mental health.
